The wonders of physical therapy for your…ear?
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008Yes that actually says physical therapy for your ear. I’ve been dealing with some vertigo issues for the last 6 months and now they are trying physical therapy for my ear. I went into the clinic yesterday not know what to expect. What do you sit there and move your ear lobe this way and that way? Do you suddenly learn how to wiggle your ears?
I was quite surprised when I found out that yes there really is a physical therapy for your inner eat to help with vertigo issues. Vertigo can happen because you moved too quickly and your balance system over compensates which is how you end up with the spinning sensation. All the fun of the tilt-a-whirl without the cost of the amusement park! It starts with a series of eye and head movements basically causing yourself to get dizzy. You are basically forcing your body to learn how to compensate correctly. Let me tell you…it’s not fun. I’m actually afraid to eat at the moment after doing my at home exercises because I don’t want to puke. We’ll see how it goes. Right now I have to go once a week and they will give me more exercises as I progress…
