Oh boy, I get post post 6 random things about myself. I’ll try not to make it too scary for you!

1. My husband and I have been married for one year…but we’ve known each other for Fifteen years.

2. Despite talking to people on twitter and emails I am still nervous about just saying hi in Gtalk and will more often then not just stay quiet.

3. I’m a geek Mom. I love gaming and RPGs and Comics.

4. If it has something to do with Joss Wheadon…we own it.

5. I’ve been on crutches since the end of July

6. I have a review blog that I’ve wanted to start but it’s still stuck in the design phase…

Kitchen Meme

I saw this over at Rhoni’s blog Thought I’d give it a shot.

1. How many meals does most of your family eat at home each week? How many are in your family?
We all eat breakfast here I eat lunch here boys eat at school/work. We are 4

2. How many cookbooks do you own? Do I count the ones I “inherited” from my MIL? There’s a lot in this house.

3. How often do you refer to a cookbook each week? rarely For most things I have a “wing it” style of cooking.

4. Do you collect recipes from other sources? If so, what are some of your favorite sources (relatives, friends, magazines, advertisements, packages, the internet, etc.)? Yeah, Internet, Mom, family members

5. How do you store those recipes? I have a notebook I write them down in

6. When you cook, do you follow the recipe pretty closely, or do you use recipes primarily to give you ideas? all of the above…depends on the recipe & my mood.

7. Is there a particular ethnic style or flavor that predominates in your cooking? If so, what is it? I tend to lean towards either Italian or Asian.

8. What’s your favorite kitchen task related to meal planning and preparation? (eating the finished product does not count) Depending on what it is the actual cooking. especially if it’s baking with the kids

9. What’s your least favorite part? the clean up!

10. Do you plan menus before you shop? I try to. Doesn’t always happen

11. What are your three favorite kitchen tools or appliances? Crock Pot, Kitchen aid, cookie gun

12. If you could buy one new thing for your kitchen, money was no object, and space not an issue, what would you most like to have? A new kitchen period. It’s 30 years old…lol Seriously though. A new stove. One that’s NOT harvest gold

13. Since money and space are probably objects, what are you most likely to buy next? nothing at the moment. We are still paying off the dishwasher we had to replace

14. Do you have a separate freezer for storage? We do

15. Grocery shop alone or with others? Alone!

16. How many meatless main dish meals do you fix in a week? at least one night a week is pasta…what can I say…it’s cheap

17. If you have a decorating theme in your kitchen, what is it? Favorite kitchen colors? Old…lol Until we moved in the floors were still the original from 30 years ago. The stove is still the original…

18. What’s the first thing you ever learned to cook, and how old were you? um…meatballs and sauce…don’t remember how old.

19. How did you learn to cook? My Mom

8 Things I’m Passionate About
1) My kids.

2) My Family in general

3) My hubby…my greenman. He is my other half in every sense

4) My friends. Those close by and those far away. They are very important to me.

5) Dance. I danced from the time I was little and had to give it up because of my knees. I’ve started Belly Dancing now and my love for dancing is coming back.

6) The First Tee. No I don’t play golf…but my kids do and The First Tee provides affordable classes and lessons for any child that wants to learn.

7) My crafts, I’m a craftaholic…what can I say I love making stuff

8. IEPs and the Speical Ed programs at School. they help kids more then people realize.

8 Things I Want To Do Before I Die:
1) Meet Sadie in person. It’s going to happen. We just have to get the logistics worked out. (Salem baby!!)

2) Disney Trip. Need the money…but want to be able to take the kids there.

3) Watch my kids grow up and watch them fall in love and get married and have kids.

4) Go on a real honeymoon with the hubby.

5) Travel. I want to go overseas and see the sistine Chapel and see the Mona Lisa up close…well as close as you can get. I want to see the countryside of Ireland.

6) Own my own store. Yes I know exactly what I want…

7) Find a way to work at home so that I have more time with my kids.

8. To be able to live life to the fullest.

6) They smack me when needed (which from time to time is often)
7) They put up with my sometimes extremely odd sense of humor…and moods.
8) They stick with me no matter what…and are honest about when I’m just being a bitch.

I’ve been tagged it seems by Linda at Straight up and Slightly Dirty So…let’s see what I can come up with here…

  1. I love to build things. It’s usually a race in my house between my husband and I to see who’s going to put something together.
  2. Despite having been out of NYC for years I still consider that my “home town” Even if I don’t have the accent anymore
  3. I have more guy friends then girl friends. Just the way it’s always been for some reason.
  4. I used to collect Unicorns. Having children they have slowly been broken over the years and my once vast collection has dwindled.
  5. I listen to just about anything when it comes to music
  6. I would like one more child…I would prefer a girl but honestly just want a healthy one. (I’m severly outnumbered in my house right now
